Insulation

If your home has solid walls, you could save up to 50% off your monthly heating bills. About 1 in 3 UK homes have solid walls, and its estimated that 45% of the heat is lost through these walls.

What is solid wall insulation?

Internal wall insulation (IWI) is a thermal insulating plaster board which is secured to your internal walls, that are directly exposed to the outside elements.

Not all walls are required to be insulated, only where you would have a heat loss perimeter.

Theses areas are then plastered to a high finish ensuring your property is much more energy efficient as well as looking great!

Cavity wall insulation

Cavity wall insulation is used to reduce heat loss through a cavity wall by filling the air space with material that stops heat transfer. This captures the air within the cavity, preventing heating loss and resulting in reduced heating costs.

Installing cavity wall insulation in an average semi-detached house could save up to 45% of heat being lost through the walls.

Room in roof

Room in roof

Heating accounts for up to 70% of the energy used in an average home.

What is room in roof?

Room-in-roof insulation can help prevent heat from escaping through the roof of your home and stop cold air from outside entering. This means that your home stays warmer, reducing the amount of energy you use.

With 25% of heat being lost through the roof of a home, getting insulation in the roof is one of the most impactful ways to stop heat from escaping and saving money on heating bills.

Room-in-roof insulation is often confused with loft insulation, when, in reality, it is a very different product and involves a different installation process. Loft insulation is used within an unoccupied loft space, where as room-in-roof insulation is used within a loft that has been converted, or is used, as an occupied room of the house.

This energy efficiency measure will help to cut both your energy bills and CO2 emissions.

Loft insulation

Loft insulation

It’s estimated that 25% of heat is lost through the roof in an uninsulated home.

What is loft insulation?

Insulating your loft, attic or flat roof is a simple and effective way to reduce heat loss and reduce your heating bills. Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years and is completely free of charge under the scheme. If access is easy and your loft joists are regular, you can use rolls of mineral wool insulation.

The first layer is laid between the joists, then another layer is laid at right angles to cover the joists and bring the insulation up to the required depth – the new standard is up to 300mm in depth to provide maximum efficiency.

What funding is available?

The latest government grants can cover energy saving measures up to a cost of £45,000 to treat your property and reduce your energy consumption. It’s easy to apply if you receive qualifying benefits, but you may be eligible to receive help even if you don’t.

Other advantages

Improve air quality

Professionally installed internal solid wall insulation can prevent dust and other pollutants from entering the home.

Lower energy bills

In a well-insulated home, less warm air escapes from the house during the winter, and less cool air escapes during the summer, reducing the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling.

Improve EPC

A properly insulated home will improve your property’s EPC rating, which can make it more valuable. The insulation will also make the property more attractive to potential buyers.

Guarantee

Our work is covered by a 25 year guarantee, so you can be confident that the insulation will serve you well for a very long time.
